My name is Emily. I am 25, and therefore I know everything — that is, if you believe the stereotype. In reality, I know nothing, but I talk about everything. I’m in the U.S. Army at the moment, although my six-year stint (five on purpose, one involuntary) is about to end. I’m originally from upstate New York (the Pretentious Northeast), but I haven’t lived there in quite some time. I have a soon-to-be-ex husband, no pets, and an aching desire to see the entire world. I smoke. I drink. I curse. I can count to ten in German, ask for alcohol in Italian, locate a bathroom in Spanish, and call you a douchebag in Pig Latin (ouchebag-day! Ha!). Someday I will write a bestseller. For more information … well, this is a blog, after all, so use your imagination.

Here I am, getting friendly with a Black Hawk helicopter in Iraq:

Good times.

  1. It’s been a long time since I’ve checked in on you. I’m glad to see you’re still alive.
